David West has over a 20 years experience as a 'hands on' manager and practitioner. David is passionate about achieving successful outcomes for retailers, Councils and centre owners. His extensive retail knowledge and understanding in high street / shopping centre locations coupled with his professional presentation skills ensures clients benefit from his advice.
David specialises in developing retail growth plans and managing high streets and retail centres. He has visited 12 European countries and worked in London during 2011.

Key projects: Christchurch NZ, City of Adelaide, City of Melbourne, City of Perth, City of Fremantle. He has delivered action plans on retail growth, high street management & marketing, Business Improvement Districts and business mix.
Rundle Mall Management (6 years experience) - David was a key influence in the establishment of the Rundle Mall Management Authority in 2008. David successfully managed one of the most concentrated retail precincts in the southern hemisphere, Adelaide’s Rundle Mall for 6 years. The Mall has over 700 shops, 15 arcades and 200 service businesses.
The Adelaide City Council contracted David in this high profile role to establish a centralised retail management model and revitalise the precinct. David successfully applied many management and marketing techniques achieving excellent results including a stabilisation of retail market share utilising a marketing and operational fund in the vicinity of $2.5m.
Westfield Shoppingtowns (10 years experience) - David’s roles included Marketing Manager, Centre Manager and Regional Marketing Manager for South Australia & Western Australia. David managed the grand launch campaigns for Westfield Marion and Westfield Tea Tree Plaza and was recognised as “Australian Marketing Manager of the year” in only his third year with the company. David was responsible for the development of centre marketing plans, market positioning and the annual events program.
The Regional Marketing role included responsibility for 7 shopping centres in two states. David coordinated a state marketing fund for each state in conjunction with the centre marketing managers. The very successful community program the Westfield School Sports Awards created in South Australia won a national shopping centre award under David’s direction.
David gained valuable management experience as Centre Manager of two of Adelaide’s largest shopping centres - Westfield Marion and Westfield Tea Tree Plaza. The role included budget management and responsibility for maintenance, cleaning, operations and security.
