Rundle Mall Management (6 years experience) - David successfully managed one of the most concentrated retail precincts in the southern hemisphere, Adelaide’s Rundle Mall for 6 years. The Mall is 520 metres long with more than 700 shops, 15 arcades and centres and over 200 service businesses.

The Adelaide City Council contracted David in this high profile role to establish a centralised retail management model and revitalise the precinct. David successfully applied many management and marketing techniques achieving excellent results including a stabilisation of retail market share.

Westfield Shoppingtowns (10 years experience) - David’s past roles included Marketing Manager, Centre Manager and Regional Marketing Manager for South Australia & Western Australia. David managed the grand launch campaigns for Westfield Marion and Westfield Tea Tree Plaza and was recognised as “Australian Marketing Manager of the year” in only his third year with the company. David was responsible for the development of centre marketing plans, market positioning and the annual events program.

The Regional Marketing role included responsibility for 7 shopping centres in two states. David coordinated a state marketing fund for each state in conjunction with the centre marketing managers. The very successful community program the Westfield School Sports Awards created in South Australia won a national shopping centre award under David’s direction.

Westfield Tea Tree Plaza - South AustraliaDavid gained valuable management experience as Centre Manager of two of Adelaide’s largest shopping centres - Westfield Marion and Westfield Tea Tree Plaza. The role included budget management and responsibility for maintenance, cleaning, operations and security.
