I recently returned from the World Congress in London. The success of BIDs/Town Management in Cities, Towns and high streets across the world was a key feature of the Conference sessions. The UK is really embracing the concept of Business Improvement Districts and how to manage them. I visited Brussels, Paris, Leamington, Milton Keynes, Bayswater, Camden Town, Bankside, Stratford, Oxford, Regent Street and Leicester Square.
I have just recorded 4 new retail video clips about retail marketing and management in the main street. I have presented these at various conferences in Australia and New Zealand. I talk about ‘Improving the Retail Offer’, ‘Measuring Successful Performance’, ‘Marketing’ and ‘Management’. Please enjoy these short clips.
Retail marketing workshops are now available to help retailers develop useful marketing action plans. The workshops run for a full day or over 4 nights. Councils can help their small shop owners by facilitating this training. Contact David today by clicking here.
I will be attending the June 2010 World Congress in London with the world’s best City / town / main street/high street managers and practicioners to discuss and consider the challenges we face and world’s best practices for improvement.
I have just returned from the International Cities Conference in Geelong VIC. I presented a paper about Business Improvement Districts in the UK. The concept is very successful and I believe we will be able to adapt this model to main streets and retail precincts in Australia. The model encourages businesses to work together with the support of Council and Government. Please contact me if you would like more information.
