Buchanan Street Mall Glasgow

I love Buchanan Street the Winner of the 2008 Urbanism Great Street Award, and I especially enjoyed the BIDs Scotland Annual Summit organised by Elaine, Jess and Ian. Joe D’Alessandro from San Francisco Travel was an excellent speaker.

Las Ramblas pedestrian mall

I have just returned from Barcelona where I visited the famous Las Ramblas pedestrian mall. Great customer access from the Metro and buses with clusters of specialty retail, destination retail, hotels, a market and more.

Successful pedestrian malls

Pedestrian Malls that work have always been on my agenda. Recently I visited Kartner Strasse in Vienna and I was very impressed. It rates up with Buchanan Street Mall in Glasgow in my opinion. Of course the key success features were all working very well.
